Chelsea have cancelled the deal that would have seen Nicolas Jackson join Bayern Munich on loan despite the striker flying over to Germany for a medical. The Senegal centre-forward was due to join the German champions on a season-long loan that the Bavarians had the option to make permanent in 12 months’ time. But following an injury summer signing Liam Delap sustained in the win over Fulham today, the deal has been torpedoed.
The Athletic say Chelsea have informed Bayern they will not be proceeding with the move and Jackson, 24, has been requested to return to London. Enzo Maresca said in the aftermath of the 2-0 win over Fulham that Delap could be out of action for up to eight weeks due to a hamstring injury.
