United dominated the first-half and deserved to go in at half-time with a 1-0 lead following an own goal from Josh Cullen. The goal came after Casemiro headed Bruno Fernandes’ free kick off the crossbar, only for the ball to bounce off Cullen before crossing the line.

Burnley reacted instantly after the break, scoring an equaliser through Lyle Foster 10 minutes into the second half, but their joy was short-lived as Bryan Mbeumo converted Diogo Dalot’s low cross.

The spotlight was on Altay Bayindir again as United’s goalkeeper struggled to deal with another corner before Jaidon Anthony made it 2-2.

United were awarded a penalty in stoppage time when Amad Diallo was pulled down inside the box. That led to Fernandes scoring from the spot to seal the three points for United.
